According to the statistics of the Buenos Aires organization, to be considered part of the middle classa family of four needs monthly income:

• Middle sector “middle class”: Households whose total monthly income is at least 1.25 times the Total Basket (TC) and does not reach 4 times the TC of the Consumer Basket System. Receiving income ranging from $1,017,520.79 to the $3,256,066.51.
• Affluent sector: Households whose monthly income is 4 times or more the TC of the Consumer Basket System. Of $3,256,066.52 onwards.

To avoid being below the poverty line in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), a family of four members must have monthly income that adjusts to the following levels, according to the Buenos Aires socioeconomic report:

How much the Basic Food Basket increased in CABA

• During February, the indigence line corresponding to the Basic Food Basket was $402,752, reflecting an increase of 14.89% compared to January and an increase of 310.2% in interannual terms.
• This year-on-year increase contrasts markedly with year-on-year inflation, which stood at 264.5%, representing a difference of 45 percentage points.
• The poverty basket experienced an increase of $52,190 pesos between January and February, which is equivalent to about $1,800 pesos per day during the 29 days of the month.
• On the other hand, the poverty line increased by $94,073 pesos in inter-monthly terms.
