A woman took her children aged two and four to the Perrupato hospital in Mendoza due to a strong stomach ache and, after the studies, the doctors confirmed that both were intoxicated with cocaine.

It all started on Tuesday afternoon, when the mother decided to take the little brothers to the medical center to be treated. According to her testimony, ““They came from their dad’s house with a tummy ache.”

When they examined them, the pediatricians noticed that it was not a “simple pain” and asked them for several studies, including a toxicological test. It was then that the result surprised them: cocaine was recorded in both of their bodies.

Police sources confirmed that they went to the boys’ father’s house to find out what had happened. “We believed that the substance consumed by the boys would be the property of the father of the minors, and it would be for personal consumption, they said.

One of the initial hypotheses indicated that the children would have had access to the drug due to the father’s negligence. However, the prosecutor in charge of the investigation, Oscar Sívori, assured that “no narcotics were found” during the raid carried out at his house.

In any case, he clarified: “We do not rule out anything. For now, «The father is involved because he was in charge of the minors and the boys ended up intoxicated.»

“The minors will be checked this Wednesday by the forensic doctor and we will have a clearer picture,” said Sívori in statements to local media.
