The Investigative Police (PDI) completed this Monday the arrest of six Mapuche community members linked to the murder of Pedro Cabrera and Pablo Burgosfarmers who were shot to death in October and November 2020, respectively, in the commune of Collipulli, La Araucanía Region.
According to police information, this procedure, carried out by the Homicide Brigade (BH) of the PDI and the High Complexity Prosecutor’s Office, It took place during the early hours of the morning in the José Millacheo communityin the town of Curaco, and ended with six arrested and the seizure of drugs and weapons.
Regarding the proceedings, the regional prosecutor, Roberto Garridoexplained that «during the elapsed time of the investigation we managed to gather a series of antecedents, specifically from testimonial evidence and also from expert reports, that allow several people to be implicated in the homicides. In that context, this entry and search order was requested, as well as the arrest of the people we believe were involved up to this point.»
Likewise, the pursuer reported that during the search Marijuana and firearms were seized.
