The Public Ministry and the SIAT Valparaíso are investigating the run over of a Carabineros first sergeant by a tractor-traileran event that occurred while carrying out inspection controls at the Las Vegas tollbooth on Route 5 North, in the commune of Llay Llay, around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to the police institution, the affected police officer was immediately transferred to the Los Andes Hospitalwhere «He has a serious diagnosis, but is out of (vital) risk»said the colonel Hernan Otaizafrom the Aconcagua Prefecture of Carabineros.

The regional presidential delegate, Sofia Gonzalezreported that «it is a process that is under investigation; however, so far, «There is no presumed intentionality of the official’s attack.»
